Adhesion is referred to as the
bond strength measurement of a coating to a substrate. Adhesion testers
are used to determine the flexibility and adhesion of coatings to
painted metallic surface. These testers check the resistance of paints
and coatings to separation from substrates. The adhesion testers measure
adhesion strength of coatings to metal, wood, concrete, plastic, epoxy,
varnish and other substrates.
Salient Features
The important features of the apparatus are:
- The tester is durable and weatherproof.
- Provided with a hydraulic pump.
- A typical abrasion tester kit consists of dollies, epoxy
adhesives, and necessary instruction manual.
- Mostly, adhesion testers are portable and hand-operated.
- The equipment comes in a rugged carrying case.
- Provided with a pulling head for testing vertical surfaces.
