Drilling machines are
cutting tools used to create cylindrical holes. They are also called
drill bits. Bits are held in a tool called a drill, which rotates them
and provides axial force to create the hole. They are suitable for
taking out cylindrical cores upto diameter of 6" (150mm) x 12"
(300mm) high from rocks, concrete blocks or air craft runway slabs.
Salient Features
- The machine unit is portable and consists of a strong base with a
pillar support, which is provided with a rack for adjusting the
height.
- Also provided with penetration assembly counter weights and a
swivel attachment.
- The entire unit is mounted on caster wheel for easy mobility.
- There are leveling screws fitted to the base.
- The machine is also provided with suitable grips for holding the
rock or concrete block of about 12" x 12" in position for
taking out the core of the required size.
- Drilling operation can be performed at an angle of 360°.
- The equipment operates on 440 volts, 50 cycles AC supply, but
without Core cutters.
Applications
- Drilling applications
- Oil & gas sector
- Rock & concrete industry
- Construction (roads, bridges, dams, etc.)
- Airport runways
