The instrument is used for measuring evaporation residue in aviation fuels, motor gasolines and other volatile distillates on the basis of standard test procedures. It can also be used to test aircraft turbine fuels.

Working Principle

• Sample beakers are placed in wells within the aluminium block and hot air or steam is blown across the samples. This leads to rapid evaporation of volatile constituents.
• After that the beaker's weight is compared to its empty weight. The difference in the weight is the difference is existent gum.
• The temperature of the evaporation air or steam is controlled by pressure regulation.
