The apparatus is suitable for
conducting
Marshall stability test of bituminous mixture. The
apparatus can truly judge the fail point of bituminous mixtures to
design the match ratio or check the construction quality of bitumen road
surface.
The Marshall stability of a mix is defined as a maximum load carried by
a compacted specimen at a standard test temperature of 60º C. The
test is applicable to hot mix designs using bitumen and aggregates upto
a maximum size of 25 mm.
Salient Features
- The apparatus features easy operation, low noise, high degree
automation, quick determination, available solution, and high
efficiency.
- The apparatus consists of a motorized loading unit of capacity
5000 kgf with two telescopic pillars and an adjustable cross head.
- There are limit switches fitted inside to control upward or
downward movement of the pillars.
- On-off reversing switch and indicator lamps are mounted on the
front side of the apparatus.
- The loading unit has fixed speed of 5.08 cm per minute. It
operates on 230 Volts A.C. supply.
- Provided with one Compaction Pedal with specimen mould holder.
- Consists of two Compaction Rammers of 4.5kg weight and a free
fall of 45.7cm.
- There is one breaking head assembly with provision to fix
flowmeter.
- There are three Specimen moulds with base plate and extension
collar.
- Includes one kit for specimen extraction, one load transfer bar,
steel ball and specimen extracting plate.
