Salt spray chamber is an equipment used to test the resistance of a painted surface to salt water spray. The apparatus is also be used to evaluate the resistance of paints or coatings to corrosion. The chamber provide exposure of paints or coatings to a salt intensive atmosphere at specific temperature.
The chamber can be used with different test methods, which may differ on the basis of cabinet temperature and composition of salt solution.

A common test method that uses salt spray chamber comprises of attaching the test panels in the chamber filled with aqueous solution of salt in the form of aerosol.
